Moving to Spain…for Good
It’s easy to take a vacation to Spain: pack your beachiest clothes, set the ADT Home Security and get your passport out – but what about relocating here? If you’ve got dreams of the Spanish way of life, here are a few things you’ve got to keep in mind before you move.
Work Visas: Unless you’re planning to retire, consider what you’re going to do once you GET to Spain. It’s harder for foreigners to get a job than you might think so consider something you can do from home like graphic design or writing.
Homes are Different: Particularly if you’re used to staying in Spanish hotels you may not realize Europeans live differently. Their homes are smaller and more narrow and they usually only have one bathroom – all things to consider when you’re bringing the family along.
The Euro is Up: Well, for right now. Moving to Spain sounds romantic but it can be quite a bit more expensive than staying in the US. If you can’t afford to change your whole life consider buying a small property for vacations and vacation rentals instead.
